SEND
UNCRC Article 12: Children have the right to say what they think should happen when adults are making decisions about them.
UNCRC Article 23: Children who have any kind of a disability should have special care and support, so they can lead full and independent lives.
Bransgore C.E. Primary School is committed to providing equal opportunity for all children to have access to the full benefits of a broad and balanced curriculum. All staff are teachers of children with SEND and we have a collective responsibility to provide high-quality teaching and learning for all children that is fully inclusive.
Our aim is to help all learners realise their potential. The focus is on accurate assessment and intervention to ensure that children’s special educational needs are identified as early as possible and that action is taken to meet those needs.
We use our best endeavours to secure special educational provision for pupils for whom this is required, that is ‘additional to and different from’ that provided within the differentiated curriculum to better respond to the four areas of need identified in the Code of Practice (September 2014).
- Communication and interaction
- Cognition and learning
- Social, mental and emotional health*
- Sensory/physical
